Difference Between Online and Virtual Personal Training
The difference between the two can be slightly confusing as these terms are often used interchangeably. While it depends on the trainer, for the most part, there is a way to differentiate the two!
Types of training:
Online personal training is often a fitness program built by a trainer in an app for the client to follow on their own. The trainer will create a fitness program and schedule it within the app for the client to use. The trainer and client may communicate within the app.
Virtual personal training is when a personal trainer and the client are in a live video call together. This is like an in-person session but over the internet via phone, tablet, or computer and in real time. The trainer may also provide other fitness and nutrition help outside of the video call session.
Which one is best for you?
If you can follow a training program and push yourself but just need to know what to do to get results, then online personal training may be best.
If you need someone to guide you through the workout and provide the knowledge, push, and motivation you need in real time, then virtual personal training may be best.
You can always try each method out and change your mind later. You may be surprised by what you like the most!
